A short film is a, none commercial motion picture. It is shorter than the average feature films. These can be found mainly on the internet, like, YouTube, websites, amateur film maker’s websites, Film4 and at independent cinema’s.
The film “orange tree” is a short film that is on the bbc website. It is about an unhappy man buying an orange tree and becoming happy because of the orange tree. It has an enigma because there is a question that isn’t immediately answered. The man is very unhappy and looks depress. This is because he is lonely and he buys a orange tree that makes him happy again and he takes it every where he goes. The short films binary opposition is humans vs. plants. The target audience for this film would be male and female above the age 16. The short film has an equilibrium, disruption, resolution, new equilibrium.
Equilibrium- The man is upset and looks very depress.
Disruption- The man buys a orange tree. On the way home people stop and ask him where he has bought this wonderful tree from. The orange tree makes him happy and he takes it everywhere he goes.
Resolution- he goes to the counter to buy a drink and when he returns the tree has vanished. He looks around the café and everyone who asked him where he got his tree from have there own plant on the table with them.
